We recently relocated to the Leander area from Austin and like most- I saw the great reviews and decided to schedule an appointment. My first initial appointment went well and I felt that the doctor- Dr. Holmes was genuine. I called in to their office 6 months later to get my sons rash/eczema checked out and to also hopefully get his flu vaccination. The receptionist explained that I would need to make 2 separate appointments because the flu vaccine would need to have a well check-up. Even though he just had one 6 months prior. I had to arrange around my work on 2 different days. I wasn't happy and was concerned that they may be trying to milk the insurance companies for 2 invoices but kept pushing on. The eczema/rash appointment left much to be desired - Dr. Holmes dismissed it and said that it would take 6-9 months to resolve. I wasn't happy but he's the doctor...I went to the next appointment and I saw a woman doctor, she saw the rash and didn't make a big mention of it and then asked if my son has a hard time at school and if he should be tested for ADHD! I was outraged- his daycare, school or ourselves have never had any concern. He's a 6 year old boy! Fast forward 3 months and this rash has gotten a lot worse with sores and we went back. Dr. Holmes just looked at them and said to just put a warm compress and sent us on our way. Then another 3 months and these sores continue and are painful. I decide to call the office to get a new plan of action, this waiting isn't working. The receptionist explains that the doctor was out until noon and that I would have to wait until then to get a call. I told her it's fine - I'm going to get a second opinion. She states that she's going to see if another doctor will help but they may not be able to because they haven't seen him. But they both had...Never got a call back. I then went to another doctor- same day and she prescribed antibiotics for the sores and a skin med to treat the sores. She referred me to a Dermatologist who saw me the next day and now my son is on the road to recovery. I thought I was done with them but then I get a bill from Whitestone Pediatrics for $10 with a note that said all co-pays are due at time of service. I called to inquire as I always pay. Well remember that second check-up in a year, my insurance didn't cover it and I had to pay a co-pay. They didn't ask me at time of service. I had an awful experience and would not recommend them.
