  We will be closing on our home in a couple of weeks and will be looking for tradesmen. 1. The house is pre-1978 and has popcorn ceilings. We will need a hazmat certified contractor to remove the 'popcorn' ceilings due to possible asbestos. Would like it tested first to be sure. 2. Interior painter who also removes wallpaper. Will need recent references. 3. Carpet and tile installer Who knows someone they have used and would recommend?

  I appreciate everyone's recommendations for contractors, but I must rant a little. 2 out of the 4 were no call, no show when they made an appointment to come to our home. One came and said he would email a bid that never came. Only one was reliable, showed up on time, produced a bid and has actually called back to see if we have made a decision. Guess who we are going with? If people want work they need to be courteous and reliable! It doesn't take much to give someone a call if you can't make a scheduled appointment. Ok rant over.
