Looking for recommendations re: Rymes (or any other co.) 'Pay as you Go' heating oil plan. I spoke with a rep today and the 'locked in price' is currently $2.80-ish. The regular delivery price today is $2.59. I admit I have not been good about monitoring their prices over the past couple of seasons but does anyone know how much higher than $2.80 it ever goes? For today, I just ordered a fill with my senior discount, but I'm wondering if there is any saving with the locked-in plan. TIA.

Looking to get a tune up on my furnace. Any idea how much that would roughly cost me? Also would like some affordable oil company recommendations. Thank you in advance :)

We have a yearly inspection/cleaning with MS & Sons. It's between $150-$200 for us. We have used them for almost five years. For oil prices you can check newenglandoil.com but search this forum for more recommendations. That question has been answered multiple times and a lot of people chimed in.
Oil
I just had my tank filled on Tuesday
155 gallons $3,15 a gallon
Two weeks ago 105 gallons $2,74 a gallon, and South Shore Oil
Can anybody recommend a good Oil company that doesn’t go up and down in price so much
And that delivers to Kingston
Thank you
Recommendations for heating oil in South County? We're buying a house in Chariho and looking for some recommendations for oil heating company down that way. Good service/good prices, you know the drill. Thanks!

I've been checking http://newenglandoil.com/ and going with the cheapest there. So far so good. I used Net Fuels that last few fills (but they aren't the cheapest listed at the moment).
Looking for a new heating oil vendor. My wife and I believe that we were shorted between 30-40 gallons last delivery. Problem is that the drivers are now giving hand written receipts where they write in the gallons delivered. We've used this same company for the four years we've been here and this is the first time we've seen hand written receipts.
I want a delivery company that gives you a receipt generated by the meter on the truck, not one written by the driver. Don't care if I have to pay $.15+ more per gallon JUST to get the record so we can monitor it better.
I will not blast the company that we have been using so don't ask. If your oil delivery company has these meter generated receipts, please let me know. Thanks!

Can someone recommend a good, reliable company for heating oil and furnace servicing in Webster? We just moved into our house last month and had several new customer promotions in the mail with amazing rates around $1.60/gal. I went to finally set that up last night to find that my husband had thrown all of the promotions out so I have no idea who they were from.
Erin K. replied:
I posted asking the same thing yesterday and everyone said Charlton oil was the best. Rate is 2.03 right now. Check out newenglandoil.com for all the local rates and companies.
My husband and I are excited to be moving to Topsfield soon and are looking for recommendations for reliable and reasonably priced oil and propane companies. Thanks!

Need to fill oil tank for the first time since buying a house, any suggestions for a particular supplier?
How do you pay for it? Do you pay one payment for the full cost of the tank, or do suppliers offer payments over the course of a year?
After reading the recommendations for oil companies, I called the ones that were recommended the most and got the price of oil today. Thought I'd share in case anyone else has lazily, like me, not shopped around in a long time. My oil company WAS Arcudi: $2.31. Pioneer ranges from $1.99 - 2.04 depending on where cash/charge and size of delivery. Morrisette: $2.09. Bousquet: 2.26. Hellen's: $2.05. Ken's: $1.99 and Al's: $2.05. I don't know anyone who works at these oil companies. This is just my price research based on "your" favorites to deal with. I'm switching to Ken's hoping that you are all correct regarding the service. Hope this helps someone. Anyone done the research on pricing electricity??? That's my next mission!

Looking for a new oil company as Townsend Oil claimed a delivery on Wednesday which was not made (there are no footprints in the snow between the driveway and the house) and my tank is now on empty... Any suggestions?

Does anyone know of an oil company that will deliver oil to a new customer? I was switching companies because of price and after getting 1 delivery from them they said I am not a regular customer and can't deliver to me. My old company wanted to charge me $30 extra to deliver and I don't want to pay that on top of the 30 cents per gallon that they already added to the going price.
Hi there,
My husband and I are moving to town this Friday and can't wait! I was hoping someone could recommend a good, reliable oil company to use. I did look on Amesbury Recommends, but noticed there are only two companies in town. I realize there may be other options out of town that people use and may be highly recommended as well. Any and all suggestions are much appreciated!
Margaret E. replied:
Search Newenglandoil.com Shop for a good price. Also look for someone who will do your service. One that offers emergency service. I never give all my business to one company. Good luck.
Marcel C. replied:
Just moved to amesbury last May and used knight oil. The service is great but the oil is the most expensive sometimes a lot more than northern Essex. They justify the price with the great service they provide. So the extra charge is sort of a contract fee for the promise they'll be there for you in a pinch. They are friendly and reliable and can actually save you money in other ways. Instead of coming out and charging me a service charge, they advised me how to deal with a problem myself saving me a couple hundred bucks. We use very little oil as we rely mostly on a gas fired stove. You can check out oil prices at newenglandoil.com. Whatever you do I would pick a company that provides service as well as sells oil and stick with them. I haven't heard anything about northern Essex service. I would stay away from companies that just sell cheap oil and don't provide service. I think your only choices realistically are knight or northern Essex.
I feel violated..just had a delivery of oil for 3.249. I am outraged. Please share ideas on a good solid local oil company that has fair prices and service..for now I'm not interested in any funky arrangements or collectives. anyone belong to heat USA? Oh and there is no gas on my street and not a propane fan or changing my heater...
Can you please provide recommendations for home heating oil providers? For example knight or Mckenzie oil
John B. replied:
Go to newenglandoil.com for prices. I've used Favorite Fuels (low prices and yummy treats with each fill up) and Lombardi (high prices but great service, especially if you have old equipment. If you go for super low prices line up a boiler guy in case of repair and maintenance calls as the price leaders usually don't offer boiler service. Finally, check with Senior Citizens Heating Oil; they serve youngsters too, but have heard good things about them from others and their prices are among the lowest.
Please Facebook friends and family we are looking to change fuel oil co. Fair and honest is our search criteria. Thank you for your suggestions... Shalom
We just moved to Sutton and looking for recommendations for home heating oil company (both delivery and service). Note, we have a "hydro system"--not sure exactly what that means, but I would guess it would be good to have a company familiar with such systems :-) Thanks for any ideas!

To all my friends who currently live in the Manchester area, please can you give me information regarding what you are paying per gallon for heating oil? My mom is being charged $4.99/gallon and I’m trying to understand if this is typical of all providers in the area. If you care to share, please share how much you pay/gal and who is your provider. Thanks so much!

Hello! We are closing on a house in Kingston later this month and couldn’t be more excited about it! I’m looking for recommendations about an oil company and what day is trash pick up? Do we have to purchase town barrels or bags? Thanks in advance!
Heather R. replied:
WELCOME! So I use a specific oil company b/c they were the only ones willing to learn my new energy efficient condensing furnace...no one else wanted to touch it. BUT if I didn't have to keep loyalty to a certain company, I would just look at newenglandoil.com and compare prices for each fill up. Usually the same few companies are the lowest price, but that's the beauty of oil...you don't get stuck in a monopoly.
I have a call into Curtin Bros for oil but they're delivering now on Thursday. I can't get a hold of my husband to put diesel in the tank. We are not out yet but on empty and I don't want the tank to have to be primed.
Does anyone know of an oil company who can deliver to Howlands Lane today?
Heather R. replied:
Just go to NewEnglandOil.com and run down the list.
Looking for a new oil company. Anyone received a delivery recently who is willing to share info on what they paid, how long they've been with the company & what their experience has been?? Thanks!
Heather R. replied:
Newenglandoil.com gives you the latest prices for each company. I use to get patriot fuel before I needed the higher priced oil company for the 24 hours service. Patriot was always the lowest price around.
I just moved to Plymouth and I need to secure an oil company. How much do you pay per gallon and what company do you use? TIA
Michelle O. replied:
Do yourself a favor and don't go with any one company. Use newenglandoil.com and just order as you need it. Careys in Whitman is consistently lower than any local companies. If you sign up with one co. they will give you a low rate on the first fill up, lock you in and then jack the price.
Does anyone recommend south shore fuel? We have oil and I need to pick a dependable company and also one that does tune ups and such.
Michelle O. replied:
Better off using http://newenglandoil.com/ Best prices and you are much better off not doing a contract with a company. They will give you a really cheap price at first and then stick it to you.
New to Plymouth..Recommendations on oil companies..Bombarded with offers and previous owners had Alvin Hollis but interested in feedback from fellow Plymouth residents..? Thank you in advance!
Michelle O. replied:
newenglandoil.com will give you all the rates locally. Do not sign a contract with anyone. They will give you a great rate at first and then jack the price. I learned that the hard way. Go on that website when you need oil, pick the best price and just order ad pay as you go.
Looking for a fair-priced heating oil delivery company. I only need a small amount to keep pipes from freezing in a vacant apartment until next month. Thanks!

Hi! I am looking for recommendations for oil companies. This is my first time living in a house with oil heat! TIA
Karen T. replied:
I use the website newenglandoil.com. They price every day for different companies who take cash or credit card, no contract needed. The two I use are order clean oil or firemans. Can't beat $1.89 a gallon.
Go to newenglandoil.com they show the current cash price for heating oil in the area. All companies. Eaton oil and northern Essex fuel tend to be cheaper than anyone else. The info is updated almost daily.
