Good morning everyone!! I am wondering if anyone knows of any events coming up where craft vendors can set up a booth (church/school craft fairs, festivals, etc) Looking mainly for September - December. Thanks in advance for your help/leads.

Can anyone recommend a weekend getaway here in Al? I'm new to the state and curious of the places to see? So far I've been to Noccalula Falls park and Oak Mtn. Thanks!

Fran, there are so so many wonderful places to go! If you like state parks, I would recommend you check out www.alapark.com. Also, alabama mountain lakes has info on places all along the Tennessee river. Mobile is always a nice visit and has spanish forts and a battleship, of course the becahes have sugar white sand, Lake Martin is gorgeous and poor man's chewacala (the area behind chewacala state park) is an incredible place with creek swimming in big rocks. You just can't go wrong with most places, especially if you're a bit flexible and your expectations aren't 5 star!
My family is in town we want to take a short drive(1hour or less) just to look around which places you guys recommends to go visit? Maybe a place in Alabama!! No callaway gardens or museums! Thanks!!

Chewacla State Park is nice -- near Auburn. http://www.alapark.com/chewacla/
Yes Cheaha State Park is open. Yes you can still walk the trails in the Talladega National Forest located around Cheaha State Park. if they are not located in a fee based area. The areas in the TNF closed are any area that would need a person to maintain them or to collect the fees (this would include the honor box fees). Please support Alabama State Parks.

There is not any part of Cheaha State Park that is closed. We are not part of the Talladega National Forest. We are owned by the state of Alabama. We are open. If you have a pavilion booked it is still booked. The campsites are still open and full tonight. We hope you will visit us. For information on rates and reservations please look at our web site alapark.com.
