Dipped & Deelicious is a home based business in Lampasas run by Gena (Dee) Stone specializing in unique, custom order, dipped desserts. Gena was a teacher & coach before having the first of 3 children in 2005 with husband David Stone. Since that time, she has had the privilege of being a stay at home mom/wife who has passion for great food and serving others. This is her story:
“In November 2013, we were short $60 in gas money for Thanksgiving. We could get to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area to be with family but did not have the return trip covered. Our family had made the decision more than a decade before to live debt free and God had always provided in the many situations like this we’d previously encountered. I had no doubt he would again. However, as the month progressed, there was no wiggle room anywhere . . . and an idea nagged at me. I am in no way entrepreneurial so this thought took me by surprise and after a few days, I knew that it was so ‘not me’ that it had to be the Lord! I posted a picture of some dipped goodies on Facebook for my friends’ Thanksgiving tables and really didn’t know that anything would come of it. In the week and a half I had before our Thanksgiving trip, exactly $60 of my goodies sold. I was thrilled and left for Thanksgiving being truly thankful. It never entered my mind that anything else would come of it but upon returning to Lampasas, FB messages awaited about doing goodies for Christmas. Fast forward to the end of December 2013, I had taken 198 orders and realized God didn’t just show me a way to bridge a gas money deficit, He showed me a business. Dipped and Deelicious was born!
Growth and change have characterized the business from the beginning. More than a dozen different goodies with numerous custom variations for every event and palate are now available with more coming every few months. Delivery is now available within Lampasas and even to surrounding areas. Gena has done everything from favors for large weddings... show more
to graduation and birthday platters to over 1,000 gift boxes to ‘just make like a little sweeter’. Dipped & Deelicious hosted its first booth at the local Herb & Art Fest in October 2014 and was overwhelmed with the positive feedback and sales from the day. She looks forward to participating in future local events.
Dipped & Deelicious operates strictly under the Texas Cottage Food Laws which outline business practices and what types of food can be sold from home kitchens in our great state.
Gena continues to be in constant awe of God’s provision and guidance through the process of launching and growing this business and is thankful to be a part of the Lampasas small business community. show more
