About us

The Gulf Coast Thoroughbred Network is an organization created for the purpose of networking to rehome and retrain Thoroughbred ex-racehorses (OTTBs). We are currently a courtesy listing service for trainers and owners of Thoroughbreds who are ready to move on to new careers after the racetrack. Though we do not consider our group a rescue, we can occasionally offer support for rescue situations.

More information and our application can be found on www.gctbnetwork.org.

INQUIRY POLICY
Due to the time-sensitive nature of placing many OTTBs, please read our new Inquiry Policy.

Many horses that are currently at the track need to move quickly, so to streamline our process of screening potential buyers/homes, we are adopting this new Inquiry Policy. Also, since we are an all volunteer organization, we all work full time and do not have time for tire-kickers, or to explain these policies over and over again.

If you are seriously interested in buying/adopting a horse that we have listed, we are moving towards the application process. Our application can be found on our website www.gctbnetwork.org, and the application can be downloaded, completed, and emailed to gctbnetwork@gmail.com.

If you have questions or problems with the application process, please contact us via the MESSAGE option on the page with the following information:
1) At least 2-3 References WITH valid phone numbers. 1 reference MUST be an EQUINE vet. The other can be a Farrier, Trainer, Barn Owner, etc. If phone numbers are not provided, we may not respond or proceed with your inquiry.
2) A brief description of your plans for the horse, and where it will be housed (home, boarding facility, etc). Photos of facility and/or other horses you may own may be requested by GCTBNetwork, so they are appreciated in advance.
3) Horses in our possession will be adopted out with a no slaughter/no auction/sale disclosure contract.
Thank you to everyone interested in an OTTB as their next horse! ... show more
