Say they repeal the ACA and have no replacement. Say the insurance companies go back to their nasty ways and completely screw us all. I'm feeling radical right now. What if we get a lot a lot of people to opt out of insurance all together? Disrupt the system totally? All of a sudden the insurance companies are floundering. All of a sudden they realize they NEED us and we don't need them. I know it's a hard sell - nobody wants to take the chance but really at some point the cost is simply not worth it anymore. And I'm wondering about insuring each other through a cooperative structure. I've been reading about Bread Funds in Europe, which are co-ops that help each other out when members become unemployed. Could we do something like that with medical insurance?
