American Family is not great, they fight everything so they don't have to pay out. State Farm tends to jack their rates super high whenever they feel like it. And the insurance industry does use all insured parties credit scores to determine rates, just how they do it now. Go with an independent agent because they can shop around with more companies to get you the best deal possible. I know our independent uses mostly all in state agencies and local adjusters so that you don't get delays once you make a claim. Good luck!

I am a licensed agent. And I have all just insurance through Laura at Richards Insurance. They are over half the cost of state farm and am fam. I have the highest limits possible with the lowest deductibles. Having worked at the other companies I won't go anywhere else. And just a heads up all companies use credit scores as a factor in determining the rates. If you have any questions feel free to message me.
