  My almost 14-yr old mini dachshund is showing signs and symptons of Cushings Disease. Her ALKP (liver enzymes are off the charts, higher than my vet and a ton of others have ever seen). Liver is looking twice the size of normal. I am still trying to find the next best way foward while working with my vet. My question on here, is there any other local pet parent's dealing with Cushings in you canine friend? Also, best recommendations for an ultrasound and Internal Medicine Specialist to see if there are any other major contributing factors. I would hate to try to treat for one disease, then have it compound by unnoticed cancer, tumor, or other complications. Any advice, tips, recommendations or sharing of personal experience is great appreciated. I am contacting Northstar Vet in Robbinsville today to discuss, just see if there are any other possible recommendations. She is currently on Denamarin for liver supplement, a daily proviable for digestive health, and due to the lab reports and urine analysis she started 125mg Clavamox on Tuesday to treat for infections.   Linda .. I had a beagle with cushings.. there was nothing I would not have done for her. If you want the Best of Best call Hope Veterinary Specialists in Malvern PA. It is a Specilaist ONLY hospital. They run many trials on new medicines as they are a research hospital with some of the worlds BEST vets. Look up Craig Clifford and his research on Cancer in canines. He is a partner there. They kept my little girl healthy for 4 addtional years with proper vet care. She left me on her own terms and peacefully never suffering.. hope veterinary 6102962099

  What are some good oncology hospitals? We have an appt with Dutton road vet that's NGAP. Our thinking was since they deal with greyhounds on a daily basis that they will be specialists with them, but now I'm second guessing those thoughts. I don't want to take Jumper to Veterinary Speciality Center of Delaware because I had a bad experience with them. We may need to start a go fund me page but I'm not certain about that either. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  The best oncologist that we found out about is Dr. Clifford at Hope Veterinary Specialist. We met people as far as FL and NY there to see him. He is in Malvern and his # is 610-296-2099. We took our Greyhound to him and she went into remission. He's not cheap but is well worth the money.

And importantly, are there any specialists in De for our pets that require specialized care by orthopedist, opthamologist or ononcologists? It is important to know who serves the Sussex county pets.
