  Resident Question: I'm looking for an eye doctor. My husband and son have very bad vision and I would prefer a doc that doesn't over prescribe. We have had docs in the past that would write super strong Rx's, my sons eyes would worsen just so he could see with the Rx. I would also like a doc that works well with kids with contacts. My son is 14 and due to his bad vision we want to move him into contacts to slow the progression and make it easier to wear athletic helmets and such. Thanks.

  I take my kids to Houston Eye Associates........Very large practice.....Offices all over the city....I have not used them for myself.....but I can tell you that Dr. Musgrove, the pediatric opthomologist is one of the very best! Taking Amanda there this morning to see one of the optometrists to get her contact prescription renewed.....They've got a website.... houstoneye.com We go to their Memorial City location.

  If she didnt have eye issues at txch in NICU like concerns with ROP, sometimes they have to see an Optometrist before they can go to TXCH bc they just have ophthalmologists. Texas Children's has great doctors. Tons of our families use Dr. Coats and Dr. Edmond.
