The builder however did not maintain the back yard so well before us getting it and thus we are in need. Currently we have Bermuda sod in the front and fesque in the backyard. In the screenshot you can see the pitiful attempt at a backyard with grass. I have looked through the forum and gathered some names that I'll be reaching out to but we have one additional issue. The land was graded to help water runaway from the home, which it does for the most part but still a great amount stays behind and creates a mushpit of red clay in the backyard. We are looking for experienced and licensed landscapers that can give us a quote for fixing our backyard. We do have a fair number of trees, but we have had grass grow well in our yard. Additionally, everyone else in our neighborhood of tall hardwoods has been able to get grass to grow. We are WELL AWARE that it will be difficult to keep grass and that it will require ongoing maintenance and overseeding. So far, a number of companies we've solicited quotes from will not offer service to us at all, which I find a bit ridiculous. I assume they don't want to bother, thinking we will complain about the difficulty in keeping it going.
