  Hello everyone! My Fiance and I have just moved into the New Hampton area, not too far from Goshen. We are moving in from crowded Long Island and we just have a couple of questions about the area. :) We are an engaged young couple with no kids, and would like to know what are fun ways to meet the locals and get to know our new county better. We actually can't wait to walk around the town of Goshen. We also heard that fall is gorgeous up here. We can't wait to experience some fall festivals! We absolutely love the fall! :) Also we have a small yorkie. I noticed a hawk flying over in the neighborhood- actually right above our house about everyday. What precautions do the locals take for small dogs. Are they a large threat? I apologize for the silly questions! We aren't used to wild life. Also, we would like to know if any of you can give us some suggestions for small local lawn businesses? We aren't used to having such a large yard either! Any home repair, etc businesses would be greatly appreciated as well. Thank you all so much! Orange county is beautiful :) We are excited to call it home.

  Small dogs should be kept on a leash or only allowed outside when you're there to supervise, not only because of hawks and owls, but we also have coyotes, fox, raccoons, etc. Make sure you use a flea/tick and heart worm preventative, as ticks spread disease!
