Therapist recommendations? I know this is a really weird place to ask this, but here goes...
Without going into too much detail, I'll just say that I've suffered from depression and anxiety for most of my life. I've been in therapy before but I haven't seen anyone since I graduated college and got married (about two years). However, it's clear that I need to get into see someone again.
Once again, this is a weird place to be asking this but... Does anyone have any recommendations? I've only been living here for about nine months so all I know is that I'll probably have a lot more choices than where I grew up.
I currently live in Hyattsville if that makes any difference.
It's kind of embarrassing to throw this out there, especially in a sub like this, but I would really appreciate any help or guidance anyone could offer.
TL;DR I need a shrink, any recommendations?

I'm glad you're reaching out. Self-care is important. We seem to get this question here every few months, so it's not weird at all. Do you need them to take insurance or will it be all out of pocket? For CBT: http://behaviortherapycenter.com/
Looking for a good psychologist in the DC area. Hi all. I have been going through a difficult time and am looking for a psychologist around the D.C. area, ideally someone who specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I know that people commonly say the best psychologists do not take insurance, unfortunately my finances are such that I can only see someone who is in my insurance plan (BCBS). Thanks for your help.

Try: http://www.cognitivetherapymd.com/3201.htmlhttp://www.cognitivetherapyctr.com/home.html Just found those online, have no experience with them. I personally go to the [Behavior Therapy Center of Greater Washington](http://behaviortherapycenter.com), but only about 80% of the cost is covered by my insurance. Congratulations for taking steps! Best wishes.
