Recommendation for advanced Chinese tutor? Hello /r/Shanghai!
I'm looking for a new Chinese tutor, as my old one moved back to Taiwan. I'm reasonably fluent (probably HSK 5 or 6) but am feeling rusty.
Thanks!

It's expensive but AllSet Learning (allsetlearning.com) is the shizniz. Your whole academic plan is overseen by John Pasden of ChinesePod fame, and the tutors are preposterously good. Uses ChinesePod lessons as well as customized texts and grammar points as materials, but it's super flexible and customizable as well.
Recommendations for Chinese language class/tutor in SH? I want to start studying Chinese in a more intensive/organized fashion to help with my job (lawyer). Basically, I want to develop the competency to read Chinese legal documents.
I'm hoping to find a one-on-one tutor with flexible hours (weekday evenings or weekends). I can already speak Chinese fluently (I'm ABC) and am familiar with pinyin, but need a lot of help learning/recognizing characters. Ideally, I'd like a tutor who has experience teaching people with my background.
Anyone have any recommendations for classes/tutors?

Got your guy right here: http://www.allsetlearning.com/ Allset Learning is started by John Pasden and is at the cutting edge of Chinese education. If you know Chinese Pod, John has been a long time teacher for them. He's a 10+ plus China veteran and has a masters in Chinese linguistics from East China Normal U. He only takes serious learners and I think he delivers the best results out of any of those other mandarin schools. They customize everything so they'll gear it to exactly what your goals are. Gee, that almost sounds like an ad. But seriously, John and his team are the real deal. Have a look.
