Seattle Gunsmith I just picked up a 1941 Mosin Nagant and 1964 Makarov. I want to get then checked out and make sure they're good to go for shooting, wondering if anybody can recommend a gunsmith in the Seattle area that's good with milsurp or just reputable in general.

I've been very happy with [C.a.R Firearms in Kent](http://www.carfirearms.com/). They did a fantastic trigger job for my USP recently. I haven't brought them anything very old myself, but I saw someone else bring in some C&R stuff while I was waiting. The drive isn't too bad from Seattle (via 509/518/181) but give them a call first just to make sure they can help you out.
Seattle Smith? A friend who lives in Seattle wants someone to open the load port and do a little shell catch smoothing on his versamax. They aren't willing to do it themselves. Anybody know a gunsmith who will do that kind of work in the Seattle area?

I'm not sure about that work specifically, but Fred at [C.A.R. Firearms](http://carfirearms.com) in Kent (formerly Tukwila) is great to work with and reasonably priced. My favorite 'smith in the area!
Looking for a Seattle gunsmith that can check 308 \ 7.62 headspacing. Seems difficult to find a gunsmith that can do this for a LR308. Anyone know of a locak gunsmith that has the proper guages for this in town?
Thanks!
