I would honestly call around to different gun shops in the area and ask them if they have gun smiths on staff and if they can do what you need. Maybe check out waguns.org or seattleguns.net in the forums sections and see if there are any tools or posts that would help locate local gunsmiths.

Thought I would stop back in here to say that C.a.R. firearms is awesome. Called and stopped in at Freds shop. Its the real deal, hidden somewhere in there is most likely any part you may need to replace on your gun and you can check out all the cool machine tools that Fred uses for his custom stuff while visiting!!

my understanding is that they are head spaced from the factory depending on weather you went with an Armalite or DPMS configuration for your bolt and barrel extension. Did you end up using some fancy custom barrel manufacturer? I know companies like krieger request you send them the bolt so they can ensure proper headspace anyways, so i'm confused.

Some people treat "Discount Gun Sales" as a dirty word around here, but I think I recall them promoting that they have recently (maybe not so recently by this point) had hired a smith for their Lake City location? Might give them a call. Yep... **"We are pleased to announce the re-opening of the gunsmith division, Match Grade Industries. It's a bit of a trek, but talk to Curly Wolf Guns and Gunsmithing in Shelton.

You can get a gauge to check your firing pin depth on the mosin if you want, but both those guns are "robustly designed" and as long as all the parts are there they will be good shooters.
