  Not sure if this is allowed but I'm looking for recommendations for somewhere to stay as visiting Ayr for a couple of nights in December. Haven't been home for a few years and not sure what there is. Would like a hotel within walking distance of the centre. All the search engines like Trivago etc are only coming up with The Mercure which isn't suitable or hotels in Troon and Kilmarnock. Does anyone know of any hidden gems out there?
