Charismatic New Orleans-born chef David Guas -- widely familiar from his frequent appearances on "The Today Show" and role as host of Travel Channel's "American Grilled" -- has garnered national praise in publications like Food & Wine, Southern Living, Garden & Gun, Saveur and Bon Appétit for showcasing the soul of the South in his sinfully delicious, Louisiana-style favorites and desserts at Bayou Bakery, Coffee Bar & Eatery. Opened in 2010, Guas serves up down-home goodness daily at his neighborhood eatery, a nostalgic tribute to his hometown in the Courthouse neighborhood of Arlington, Virginia. Plenty of character sets the scene where the menu includes Buttermilk Biscuits with Pepper Jelly, Pimento Cheese, Sandwiches, BBQ Pork, Roast Beef Arm Drips, Muff-a-lottas, Shrimp Creole, Red Beans & Rice, and sweets like Layer Cakes, fruit Pies, Pralines and PorKorn.
