I've had my hair long the past few years so it hasn't been an issue, but I started shortening it up again recently and don't know anyone I trust yet to take it all the way. I like to experiment with my short cuts and tend to get a lot of layers and parts that need thinning out our texturized, which seems to be the part most people have trouble getting right. Halp!   I can't speak specifically to short hair cuts, but I go to Kristin at 6 th Borough Salon (https://www.6 thboroughsalon.com/) in Hoboken. They are pretty active on social media, so you can get a sense for what they do.
