Are there any expert model-builders on reddit (especially those who know about model rockets) who could help with this idea? Details inside. The other day, as I was going through some pictures, I came across a photograph of a rocket launch, and thought to myself how cool it would be to make a model rocket that someone could operate. As I thought about it more and more, I wondered whether would be feasible to program it from the ground up and make it powerful enough so that it could go to significant heights. Leaving out all of the details in between, I decided that I would like to attach a quality camera to the rocket and either record video or have a live stream from the rocket's point of view that anyone could watch.
Are there any model-builders on reddit who are familiar with this sort of thing (i.e. motor construction, rockets, etc?), or does anyone have any advice or ideas?

You can construct model rockets that travel anywhere up to 100,000 feet with commercially available parts. As far as "operating" the rocket, I do not understand your intentions. If you mean piloting it, you'll need movable fins. Movable fins make it a "missile" which is illegal to some degree. As far as cameras. Most rocketeers I've seen with cameras use a keychain video camera with surprising results. Myself included.
