Can you recommend a good slide scanning service in Montreal? So I'm back from my parents' with about 2000 slides mostly from the 1970s that I'd like to have scanned and put on a portable hard drive or DVD(s).
I looked at slide scanner reviews, and apparently, good scanners with automatic slide feeders cost more than $1500.
Costco has a [scanning service](http://www.costcodvd.com/services_and_pricing-slides.aspx) at 32 cents per slide, which would come to $640 + tax. However, I wonder if the quality is any good. These are just family pictures taken with ordinary cameras, but at the same time I'd like not to introduce any distorsion or compression artifacts if possible.
Any pointers, good or bad experiences, etc. gratefully accepted.
