Can anyone recommend a good bar for someone visiting town? I'm headed to Syracuse in a couple weeks for a conference and I like to get a good feel for local pubs whenever I'm in a new town. Which are the best pubs? Beer bars? Whiskey bars? Are there any metal bars? Is there anywhere I should be sure to eat before I leave? What should I be sure not to miss while I pass through town?

Al's Wine and Whiskey bar is one of the best whiskey bars around. Their hard liquor selection is unbelievable. Check it out the spirits section http://www.alswineandwhiskey.com/wine-bar-syracuse/. Their beer selection ain't bad either. For beer bars, the Blue tusk is great but needlessly expensive. J Ryan's has 70 beers on tap and is a fun dive. Empire brewing has good beer made on site and good food too.
Does anybody know of any bars/restaurants that have Genesee's Bock Beer on tap?

Is this new this year? I've *never* seen it on tap before, but I was just at a place called [Al's](http://www.alswineandwhiskey.com/) in Syracuse (great place BTW) and they had Bock on tap.
