The shelter is located on a 29-acre wooded site off of Voges Road in Madison. Our facility includes a state-of-the-art veterinary center, animal exercise areas, walking trails, a barn to house large animals and also rehabilitate wildlife, counseling rooms for adoptions, and special rooms for animals needing extra attention or medical care.
DCHS's wildlife rehabilitation program, Four Lakes Wildlife Center, is dedicated to providing responsible care for the ill, injured and orphaned wildlife of south central Wisconsin, and to promoting education and awareness of the crucial role of wildlife in our community.
In 2009 we enjoyed the successful opening of our new Adoption Center West, located in the High Pointe Centre shopping mall at the intersection of D'Onofrio and Mineral Point between Pier 1 Imports and Pedro's.
We also have a wonderful partnership with Mounds where we have Satellite Adoption Centers throughout the community that offer cat and/or critter adoption.
does anybody know a place where i could adopt a rattie that is near rockford illinois?
If you don't mind a pretty drive up to Madison, they have several male rats in their shelter looking for homes: http://giveshelter.org/ That's the closest I found to Rockford on the petfinder.com website.
