One topic I don't see covered here that is of importance to my hiking experience is the after-hike small town diner recommendations. You go for a hike, then you find the closest local diner and eat a huge plate of food, then you go home. It's a foolproof system.
I'll start. When hiking in the Wallace Falls region, there is the Sultan Bakery. Massive plates of food for cheap. I'm not sure if the food is good because I'm really hungry from hiking when I arrive, but there are plenty of other hikers, kayakers, and skiers there.
