One topic I don't see covered here that is of importance to my hiking experience is the after-hike small town diner recommendations. You go for a hike, then you find...

I always stop by Vick's Burger Shack for a protein overload if I'm coming back from somewhere near Stevens Pass.

Basecamp Books and Bites or Roslyn Cafe in Roslyn!

The Sultan Bakery is the best though the breakfast portions are too large for me. And always end up buying a few of their delicious maple bars as we leave for our Highway 2 hikes.

Coming off the north end of the peninsula, no place replaces the calories like Fat Smitty's Diner at Discovery Bay:

Shrimp Shack after anything on Whidby Island. They have a burger for every kind of seafood imaginable. I recommend the blue crab burger. If youre coming back from anywhere on i-90, you cant go wrong with Lil John's in Eastgate. Damn good diner food with lightning-fast service. Also have to recommend the Buzz Inn Restaurant of Granite Falls for Highway 2 / Mt Baker hikers. My Dad and I have given serious thought to making a hiking guidebook that includes all the best eateries you can visit afterward.

https://www.facebook.com/1468627853212064Hanky Pies in Granite Falls when going to and from the Mountain Loop! The maple bacon scones as well as the wild berry scones are awesome. They also have a kids play area which is a bonus for me.
Rachel Z. replied:
We also love Hook Line Espresso in Granite Falls in the summer because they use real hand scooped ice cream in their milkshakes! (It’s the wood sided coffee stand a few blocks past the McDonalds/Chevron before you get to the main stop sign)

ISO a decently priced place near everett to get a tiered cake made for my daughters baptism. Somewhere that has a portfolio so I can see their work. Any ideas?
