Does anyone have a recommendation for a home phone company - a basic plan with a voice mail, no contract - it can not need wireless. Just a basic, simple phone line. A cell phone is not an option. Thanks in advance.

Well to get vonage you'd need the internet and cell phones these days are cheap. https://www.jitterbugdirect.com/ Actual land line phones I do not think they are really expanding much with lately. What she should look at is lifeline service and talk to her coa. http://www.fcc.gov/guides/lifeline-and-link-affordable-telephone-service-income-eligible-consumers
We are wanting to get out of ATT and go to Sprint….Any one have an opinion? How is the service in our area?? It would mean a sparkly new phone for me and we all know how bad I need one. :) THX
OFF-TOPIC but hope you can help.

I am looking for a good cell phone service for my mother. She is old-school and only has it "for emergency use" so she uses only 5 minutes/month. The lowest plan I have seen is 200 minutes/month for $29.99 which is ridiculous. Thus I am thinking some kind of pre-paid service. Does anyone have experience with pre-paid cell phone service (you have to buy the handset, right?) or what have you heard?
