Need suggestions for remote thermometer for server room Recently we had an air conditioning failure in our server room. Although we were able to recover quickly, we were lucky that this happened in the middle of the working day and action could be taken swiftly.
I would like to set up remote temperature monitoring for the future. Whilst I am aware that I can use 'sensors'/'lm-sensors' for given machines, I'd really like a room thermometer that can be monitored remotely, ideally plugging into Nagios or Spiceworks or something. Is anyone on this sub able to recommend anything? Looking online so far I have found:
* Endless cheap Chinese USB dongles with mixed or terrible reviews
* A few 'wifi' thermometers that hook into some proprietary mobile phone app
All of our physical machines in that room run CentOS so ideally the solution will be fairly simple to get playnig nice via that
Thanks!

I use http://www.geistglobal.com/products/monitor/environmental-monitors/watchdog-15-15-P it is relatively cheap does snmp etc so nagios is easy to implement, but also can do it's own email alerting. I added an extra sensor so I can get hot and cold side of our 2 racks in the office.
