Where do you buy seeds? I'm looking for seeds to add to a food forest that requires little to no maintenance, like watering (once established). Are there any companies that make seeds for that, rather than standard gardens and commercial production? For instance, companies that focus on native plants, and have things like, for example, squash seeds for drought areas.

With regard to native plants in general, I've recently bought a bunch from Larner Seeds (CA native) and Prairie Moon Nursery (prairie-centric, obviously; large selection). Both of those will sell bulk quantities (though not necessarily of every plant they offer). I have also bought a couple packets from the hyperlocal Klamath-Siskiyou Native Seeds; their selection is small but, again, highly local and less commonly available (or otherwise unavailable) species. I also have bookmarked, but haven't bought from, Native American Seed (seedsource.com; TX, OK, LA).
I'm interested in getting some seeds of the native ground cover known as Powder Puff. Does anyone know where I can purchase some seeds of this native ground cover (I.e. not the tree)?

[www.seedsource.com] Native American Seed. Wonderful people and seed with the right provenance. Let me know if you can't find the seed you're looking for in their catalog. <mild.christina@gmail.com>
