  1949 Plymouth Special Deluxe after taking it to my mechanic this morning it also needs an oil pan, timing chain cover & gasket, damper (any special tool needed), front set of shocks, rear main seal (rope type), rear main retaining gasket, side valve cover inspection port gasket. Anybody know where the best place is to find these parts?

  These are common and the same pieces for several years. Napa is good. Don't put a rope rear seal on tho, Get a later model that is rubber and metal all bonded together. Much better. Terrell machine shop in Deloun Tx 254-893-2610. Ebay is also a good source. By the way the head gasket if you ever need one is unique to '49-'54. I found that out the hard way......
