I've been posting a lot today I apologize! I have some misc. items to donate. I tried a few places that have pick up as there are a few furniture items... and they want it left on the street and I don't want to do that (pretty gross if you ask me, and an eye sore as they need it there an entire day almost) Anyone know a local church or school that has a pick up for donated items?

You can use Zealous Goods (zealousgood.com) they have you post your items and then non-profits "bid" for them. You can choose pick up. I've used the site several times and have always had a good experience.
Can anyone recommend a local charity where items go directly to those in need, and not through resale? I have a ton of maternity, baby, and kid stuff I'd like to donate.

I love Zealous Good - https://www.zealousgood.com/. You can ask that the items get picked up, and charities across the Chicago community can request the donation. They'll take all sorts of things, too.
