  Hey - not sure if this is the best place to post but thought I'd get anyway! My MacBook Pro, model circa 2011, needs a new battery (I think) as there's an 'X' over the icon. Does anyone know if there's any decent places nearby that will fix it cheaper than an apple store? I really really need it to get me through the last few months of my degree and can't afford a new laptop atm. Any recommendations would be super helpful and appreciated!

  I just wondered if anyone can help. My beloved MacBook Pro is failing me. It is now overheating to the point of not being able to use. I do a lot of audio recording on it and the fan sound is so loud that recording is now impossible. I've already taken it to the appleshop and they couldn't find the fault.
