Advice for a new biker? Hi everyone! I'm looking to get into the biking world as I've recently moved close to the Monon downtown. I've looked through some guidance on a few different subreddits and forums but was hoping to hear from a few locals as well. Can anyone recommend me a good bike shop that will be able to assess what type of bike I'm looking for as well as fitting for a bike? I'd love to keep it around the downtown area, but am open to venturing out to some of the nearby suburbs as well, if you'd all consider it a worthwhile trip.
Any advice as far as Indianapolis riding is always appreciated too, if nothing else! Thank you all in advance for your help!

Freewheelin' is a non-profit at 34 th and Central. They've got a small selection of refurbished bikes, plus they carry some great urban commuters in [Detroit Bikes](https://www.detroitbikes.com/) and [6 ku](https://www.6 ku.com/). They do good for the community and have some great mechanics working there.
Can anyone recommend a bike store to buy a slow roll type of bike? Thanks!

$200-$300 to get something nice that's used. At least $500 for something new. You may want to check out http://Detroitbikes.com/ for a new commuter-style bike. Bike Tech on the east side off of warren is good for used bikes.
