Does anyone have a teacher lesson planner that is geared more for libraries? I need to include sub plans in mine as well. I need a print version but would also like to be able to access it online if needed. Should I have the sub plans in a separate notebook? Any ideas?
Diane M. replied:
I use planbook.com. Easy to print out and you make the times fit your need. For emergency sub plans I have a file box labeled emergency plans with activities that would work with any class. I also have a sub folder with the stuff like detailed directions to checkout. computers, etc. school map, etc.\
Does anyone have a lesson plan format-Google document that they use for lesson planing that has their state standards so you just click them and they are added? I have a planning day this week and have been racking my brain this weekend trying to think of way to do this- thought I would ask here. We are moving to Learning Focus lesson planning if that makes a difference. Thanks in advance for advice or suggestions.
Mary M. replied:
planbook.com I think it is $12 a year. Can attach standards to plan. Also can save plans from year to year.

I was also goingto also say planbook...school required is to use it but i love it
I am looking for a Library Planning book that is digital. I am a K-12 Library Media Specialist for Exceptional Education. I don't give out grades this year but that may change in the future. I was thinking of a basic planning calendar but we have a high absenteeism rate and I might want to keep track of attendance. I plan on using Google Drive to write my library curriculum on. I had a great session at NYSCATE this year on how to do that. Any suggestions?
Amy P. replied:
I use planbook.com and I really like it. It allows you to set it up in any way that fits your schedule, color code classes, many of the standards are in their database so it is easy to add those directly to the lesson plans, and you can transfer last years plans to the next year and make changes as needed. My school district uses an online program to track attendance and for grades that all of us are required to use. I don't think planbook has a place to keep track of attendance or grades. It does cost $12 a year for planbook but I think it is worth it.
Krystina K. replied:
I use planbookeducation too. I like that I can bring in the standards and upload docs to it.
Planbook! All online, printable, able to be shared with ea/ admin And curriculum standards links included
Meredith M. replied:
Love planbook, took my kids to the park yesterday afternoon and I sat and planned on my phone, googled, copied links in to planbook, selected the outcomes from the curriculum I was covering, my first week back is ready to go. Blooms taxonomy is also embedded into the possible outcomes you can select.
Lisa S. replied:
Planbook for sure. I bring it up on my computer at the start of the day and then all the links, PowerPoints, documents etc for my lessons are all ready to go. It can be printed as a pdf for relief teachers also.
Can anyone recommend a planner for teacher use? There are just so many out there, but I'd like to purchase one that I know I will actually stay organized with! TIA!
Tracie F. replied:
If you like digital I recommend planbook.Com only $12/yr and accessible anywhere - even has student access so kids could In Theory see what they miss if they are away.
Lindsay J. replied:
Planbook.com helped me a lot. I wasn't great at being organized in a binder style planner. This fits my lifestyle and what I'm used to. It's a small yearly fee, but you can also print your days out for subs and There's also an app so if you wanted, you could do your day plans while you're riding in a vehicle or sitting in a doc office! I also keep a binder on my desk for the other physical things like allergies, class lists, marks, etc.

Does anyone have/use a lesson plan template that they love and would like to share?
Judi M. replied:
Planbook.com. Perfectly wonderful
Eric Y. replied:
Judi Wirenius Morris....i am going to try and integrate into Planbook.Com next.... I have had issues with planbook all week.
Jeffrey J. replied:
I second Planbook.com Über easy to use and manipulate to fit your personal needs/schedule/whatever.
Karen S. replied:
Ditto Planbook. That's what I'm switching to. I can share it with my student teacher and my administrators, plus any of my colleagues.
Carol R. replied:
Who pays for planbook? You or your admin?
Laura B. replied:
If you use Planbook, look into signing up under your school and get other teachers to do the same. From what I recall, you either get a reduced rate or more months for the going rate. The discount depends on how many of your teachers use it.
Kit P. replied:
I'm creating a new template today, but I'm also looking into planbook.
Eric Y. replied:
I took my template and loaded it into planbook.... Worked great
Looking to order a teacher planner... Anyone have suggestions?
Danielle R. replied:
I use planbook.com
Andrew S. replied:
I still use a paper day book but I have also shifted to using an online day book. Check out Planbook.
Heidi S. replied:
I love Planbook! So easy to use. You can tailor it to your own bell times, add special events, color code classes, print to PDF, extend or bump lessons. It really is great. Our school gave us an option of a paper day book or Planbook this year.
Does any know an app for planning/checklist/data collection/assessing? I know a teacher who had one that did everything, think it cost $30 or close but I can't remember what it is or get in contact with her
Renae H. replied:
I am using planbook.com for my daily workpad. Love it. I can aces it from ipad computers at school and home my assistant can get to t from her computer so doesn't have to hunt through all the crap on me desk to find out what is going on. 😜
Meredith M. replied:
I'm loving planbook too... But then the boss bought those great Ixl (?) DWP and we have to use them and leave them at work :(. I only work two days a week, so there's a lot of wasted space... Think I'm going to print my planbook pages and stick them in.
Teacher friends - can anyone recommend a good app for lesson planning? I just started looking and am feeling overwhelmed!
Danielle W. replied:
Kelli, I'm looking at planbook.com - $12 to subscribe for the year but you can do a 1 month free trial - app is free. Might try it out!
Jenn A. replied:
Okay, I am trying out planbook.com. So far I like it, but now too sure about sending my plans this way to Val. As far as I can figure out, you send a link to the person. Don't know if she's going to want to have to do that............
Claire Haberfield has a quick question: "Can anyone recommend any good lesson planning apps for my iPad? Thanks!"
Alexis O. replied:
I haven't used these, but check these out http://www.planbookedu.com/ and https://planbook.com/ (keep in mind "While planbook.com can be used on iPad and Android-based tablets currently, via the internet browser on each device, there are limitations in terms of text formatting for Lessons and Events. We are working hard to remove these limitations, and are exploring options to take better advantage of the native features available on tablet devices.")
Claire H. replied:
Thanks very much! It looks like most people either use planbook edu or planbook. I am in Australia do either of these use the Australian Curriculum? Does anyone know?
Karyna P. replied:
Planbook is great I think it was $10 but well worth it!
Katie M. replied:
Planbook
Amanda D. replied:
I use planbook.com. It's web based, but works well on the iPad. It's also cool because it allows you to customize it, drop in standards, share it, print to PDF, etc. This will be my 3 rd year using it and I can import previous years lessons so that I don't have to rewrite them.
