I have an ac problem and my inside coil needs replaced. I have home shield and they sent a company to look at it and now agree to replace the coil. The ac company is wanting to do extra stuff to comply with code and I think they are simply trying to add stuff to make more money.
They are claiming they have to replace the pan that catches the water and under the unit. It has one that functions fine and is in good repair. This adds $500 to my portion thus doubling my out of pocket. I am arguing you do not have to change since they are only doing a repair.
Home shield said if I get a document stating that it is not mandatory I can have it done without changing.
Does anyone know? Advice on where to get said document,,,and fast as it is 100 degrees.
Thanks
