Are there any left handed people in this group that would shop at the Leftorium? Does any such store or chain exist in the real world?

I'm a leftie. In Downtown Disney there's a left-handed store. I perused their items, but they were "made in USA." No thank you! https://www.leftyslefthanded.com/

As a lefty who does not smudge my paper/pencil/ink/hand when I write, I think it comes down to how handwriting is taught. When the writing utensil is held correctly and the paper is positioned correctly, writing can be learned without smudging. I agree that pushing a child too soon can be detrimental to learning, but when they are ready, they can really flourish with the proper instruction. I also agree that left handed people are not handicapped and do not require special curriculum, only positioning help for holding the writing implement and the paper. It also helps to have left handed implements. Scissors are huge. The blade, and subsequent cutting blade, is on the wrong side of a right handed or traditional pair of scissors. Spiral notebooks should be avoided, unless the spiral is at the top or the notebook is made specifically for a left handed person. See above for my curriculum recommendation of Spalding Reading Road to Writing, and I agree with the other posters regarding the left handed store. I get their newsletters and coupons. BTW, I love to write with fountain pens, a habit I picked up from writing thank you notes in childhood, and the left handed store has some great fountain pens set up specifically for us lefties! The nibs are set up wrong (for righties) if they do not specifically state for left handed people. www.spalding.orgwww.leftyslefthanded.com
