Hello folks - I'm looking to buy huge ostrich plumes to make something - found some white ones on eBay - but . . . And here's the question anyone know how to dye feathers ??? Please

I have found that Dylon does not really work that well, it's difficult to get a bright colour. Jacquard silk dye works much better on feathers, although I would agree with Stephen that it can be a nightmare. If possible it is much better to buy them dyed already. Feathers on ebay tend to be short and not great quality so do not dye well. You will need to rinse well after dyeing otherwise they will go crispy. Once dry steam and fluff up with a hairdryer. baxterhart.org have some reasonably priced feathers but usually black or white. http://www.ostrichfeather.co.uk/ have a wider range but more pricey. Good luck.

Hiya does anyone know where I can buy white feathers in London? About 6-8 inches long I've tried online and when they arrived they were only 3 inches! Any help would be great! Thanks!

Yeah I have used Ostrich Feather before and tho they are fab, they don't sell the single large feathers which I think the original poster was asking for....? They are amazing for coque and ostrich boas and trims tho!
Hi Our town is having a bank holiday roundheads and cavaliers two day event in our local area and I wondered if anyone knows where I could purchase costumes/hats and helmets at reasonable prices?
