  From Michelle: Question Feeling a bit frustrated. My son has had a g - tube since birth. He is 1 yrs old. He is on continous feed just at night bc takes majority of his milk by mouth. What frustrates me is that he won't take solids frown emoticon he has oral aversion and a strong gag reflex. We have been working with a therapist but nothing seems to work. He gags, chokes or sometimes will vomit. Any suggestions?

  Check out Notube.com. We weaned our kiddo off of his feeding tube when he was 13 months old. It was a quick and easy wean and the vomiting stopped immediately. He's been tube free for over a year now and loves to eat but wouldn't touch food beforehand. Here's our story, No Tube for Eli. Good luck!

  I am loving notube.com right now. My son had everything you just described and even threw up several times a day. We're down to 0 vomiting, no gagging, and he's even eating some yogurt during the day. I am still flying on cloud nine about his progress! Before notube, I was beginning to think he had no chance of eating foods. Before, therapy especially made my son's oral aversion worse. Nearly three weeks ago, he was 100% tube fed.

  From a momma: Hi All!! I am a momma of a 17 month old who has had a tubie since she was 3 months. We started with the NG tube then switched to a G tube. We are now dealing with a severe oral aversion. Are there any mommas out there that can help/recommend some tips to work thru this oral aversion? We are now seeing a speech therapist but really wanted feedback from tubie parents that maybe on this same journey with us. Thanks guys

  Following too. My 15-mos. old aversion is from chemotherapy, diagnosed with brain cancer at 6 wks. Tube fed for 6 months now, working to weaning as we finished treatment 3 mos ago. I heard about netcoaching www.notube.com. I wonder if anybody has experience with thats

  I'm from the US and we also did the netcoaching program online with notube.com My daughter was 9 months and 100% NG fed. It was successful and we did not travel anywhere.

  We consulted the NoTube clinic in Austria in December, and did their net coaching program for our 15 month old daughter who was tube fed from birth and had never eaten anything orally. They helped us get her weaned 100% in 8 days. Was a terrific program and was dr supervised. Best part was that we did it all in the comfort of our own home. They take patients from all over the world.

  I am not from Oz but also had my child weaned with NoTube. We are from South Africa and flew over to Austria for a 3 wk program. You have an option of netcoaching or being part of group in Austria. Brilliant, I would do it again in a second. Our little guy was 25 m when we went to Austria

  We are also from Melb Australia. Although Australia has limited feeding clinic options compared to overseas, there are other different options available to assist with weaning depending on your reason for weaning and readiness to wean (ie oral aversion, tube dependency - with or without medical medical condition/feeding disorders etc). As far as I am aware, Lively Eaters in Adelaide is the only 'official' dedicated feeding clinic in Australia. Programs that provide cross border support are notube.com (online wean program or in patient in Austria) and Marcus Wilken (check out his website, he also travels to do in home weans). In my sons case we were dealing with multiple issues (feeding issues in addition to oral aversion and dependency) and so for this reason the options above were not the right fit for us (except for Marcus which we would have considered using had we not had brilliant local support). We instead have worked for a long time with our sons medical team and speech therapists to wean him (he is still dependent on his tube for all hydration for medical reasons). We know others who have fully or partially successfully weaned using their local team as well. Although the options locally are limited, with the right speech therapist a successful wean is possible.

  From a parent: I'm a mama of a 9 month old with significant aversion issues, failure to thrive, delayed gastric emptying, vomiting, oversensitive gag, GERD, etc. They just placed the g tube last week, but we've been fighting this battle since birth. Any recommendations for good feeding therapists in Fort Collins, CO (or Denver north to WY)? We've yet to find someone really helpful.

  From a parent: Hi there! My almost 9 year old son has had a feeding tube since age 1. This is due to a behavioral eating disorder secondary to fetal alcohol effects. His doctors are strongly recommending that he be placed in a feeding program at our local Children's Hospital (where he would go all day from 8-4ish for several weeks). I have 4 other kids (the youngest I'm still nursing). Has anyone done this? I would have to be with him, and we don't live near the hospital so we would have to stay in the Ronald McDonald house. But how do I just leave my other children and husband? I don't j ow what to do.

  We did notube net coaching. The medical team is located in Austria, but the weaning can be done at home and you have daily contact with the medical team via the internet. Their website is www.notube.com We were tube free in just 12 days and they have a 90% success rate! Our kiddo has been tube free for over a year now and loves to eat!

  Have you seen www.notube.com? They do a net coaching programme... very high success rate (as long as your child isn't aspirating). My son was weaned at 15 months and the doctors told me he would never eat orally. He is now 8 and eats more than me!
