  Henry A. "Hank" Wendt age 71 years of Blackwood, NJ. on October 18, 2013. Born in Media, Pa. He was raised in Ridley Twp. and graduated from Ridley Twp. High School. After marriage he moved to NJ. where he raised his family. Hank was a pipe fitter for Local #420 and was proud of his Masonic affiliations. Mr. Wendt got involved with a SK Boat and registered it with the American Power Boat Association. His boat racing career spanned 41 years. He started racing in the run about class. As he got older, his energy turned to engine building. In 1985 he won Nationals with SK-58 Barnstormers. In 2010, PS-WENDT racing won the UIM World Championship and Summer Nationals. His love of working on engines turned to becoming an inspector, For this work he was admired and respected by those in the boat racing community. Survivors: wife Peggy Fields Wendt, son Richard Wendt, sister: Marjorie L. Sutcliffe. He is also survived by his future daughter in law: Debbie Bennett, nieces: Lisa Sutcliffe Buckwalter,and Carol Ann Smith (Ralph) and 4 nephews: Matthew, Danny, Brian and Christopher Service: Wednesday 12:30 PM at Rigby Harting & Hagan Funeral Home 15 E. Fourth St. Media, Pa. 19063 Calling: Tuesday evening 7 - 9 PM at Rigby Harting & Hagan Funeral Home 15 E. Fourth St. Media, Pa. and again Wednesday one hour prior to the service.
