Can anyone recommend a good bike shop for kid's bikes? Thanks.

Simon Bevis really depends on budget but I made a mistake of buying a cheap bike that Havana was unable to ride properly. The set up was all wrong and the gears and brakes were really difficult for her to handle (kind of vital?!). I then had to buy another at twice the cost! Frog bikes and Isla are more expensive but they are superb and I know Isla have great resale value on ebay etc. The elder child can pass down to the young in any case. Frog bikes are new on the kids scene but follow a similar pattern to Isla. Billy Bilslands is one place stocking them. An alternative is to look on gumtree and ebay for secondhand Isla bikes. Also, indie bike shops, such as Solid Rock, offer good advice and can help you to choose. Make sure the wee ones can easily handle brakes and gears. If the four year old can already ride a bike that's ace, if not get them on a push along rather than stabilisers. This aids a sense of bike balance. Also but up a message on FB etc to see if anyone has secondhand to sell but I can;t recommend Isla more highly. If other bike brands want to argue their case for kid-specific designed bikes I am all ears but in my experience they are scaled down adult bikes and not always too accurately thought out. Added to that most of these bikes weigh more than an average adult bike so think how tricky it is for wee ones and little legs to ride these...Sorry... such a long comment! Does anyone have any recommendations on bikes, either stunt or mountain for a 10 year old boy??

Have a look at http://www.islabikes.co.uk/ Freya. I got one for Jack back in the summer & it's the best kids bike I've ever seen. He loves it. Did a lot of reading on cycling web sites & they're really highly rated
