  Hi Moms (and Dads)! My daughter is 16 months and has Down syndrome. I have been able to work from home with her since she was born but now we are in need of part time daycare. My friend just told me that some daycares may not accept our kiddos! My daughter is very healthy and right now meeting most milestones - the socialization will be great for her! Can anyone recommend a daycare, prefer NE side of town, that they've had great experiences (or not!) with. If you don't want to comment publicly, please PM me your thoughts. Thank you!

  You can also call Child Care Connections for information on all licensed child care provides in a given zip code. The state web site listed above is great and it also has a way for you to check on complaints filed with the state. We have just had our licensing inspection and came through with with flying colors. Be sure to ask to see the licensing and health/fire inspections for whatever centers you go see. Feel free to call us if you need care on the north central side of town (off Academy and Lehman).

I would love to know of any part time church childcare-part day preschools-in home daycares-facilities or amazing babysitters that you can highly recommend to me. I have a newborn that requires special care but I'm only looking for my 12month old & possibly my 3 year old (she goes to Montessori twice a week but it's killing our budget).   http://www.childcareconnections.net/ They maintain the list of LICENSED care throughout the county. Even home care that is LICENSED. (Which is what you want if you have a child requiring special care!) Best part - they are a free service for referrals!

  Try Child Care connections. I got a lot of referrals for licensed people through them. I ended up paying a friend instead because her child is SN and so is mine and so I had a hard time trusting a stranger.

  Please go to child care connections. They are the El Paso County clearinghouse for LICENSED childcare. They are very nice and easy to work with. Our center is probably too far away for you. We are at Academy and Lehman in north central Colorado Springs.
