  I've heard that peppermint oil works well, I know that salt helps but salt is dangerous to walk on haha. I also HIGHLY recommend cedarcide. It's all natural, made from cedar oil and insects hate it. They have a store front here in houston but you can order online http://www.cedarcidestore.com
