  Can y'all suggest a bike repair shop? I'm looking for a bike shop in North Austin that's actually accepting bikes for repairs. Bought my bike at Buck's on Research like fifteen years ago. Lent it to my brother for ten years, and he rode it into the ground. Took it BACK to Buck's just before the pandemic to get a repair estimate (\~$190) but like an idiot I didn't have them fix it right then. Now of course that location is closed, and I can never get the Round Rock location on the phone. Is there a good shop even remotely near me that can fix my bike? Edit: Thanks for all the great suggestions! Y'all rock.

  You should use [Velofix](https://www.velofix.com). Hands down the best service in the city. They come to you when you need it, work on your bike locally, and return it promptly. James is one of the best mechanics I've ever worked with and Highly Recommend him and Velofix.

  Luke Demoe built a set of 29 ers for my hardtail 8 or so years ago and they have been bomb proof. I take them out and trash them on a regular basis and they have stayed true and round. He has a mobile bike shop called Velofix. I assume he still build wheels. Velofix.com. Otherwise Hutch's, Life Cycle and Paul's Bicycle Way of Life all do good work.

  Well.. I'm thoroughly impressed. Reached out to find a company to take my bike to for a tune up. I've found shops are either in really inconvenient places to go to, or I'm wary of. Recommended to Velofix. Booked an appointment last night for today at 430 pm. Figured their "digger" package, full overhaul and tune was worthwhile since I don't know the bikes previous maintenance history. Showed up just before 430 pm, ready to go. Wasn't sure what to expect but they have a killer setup that's clean and organized. Brought my bike out to them and then went to make supper. A couple of hours later I see one of the techs taking Rocky for a rip - hop out to see how it's going. A couple of tweaks later they let me know the full overhaul wasn't necessary and that my bill with all the parts and service would be less than what I originally expected - honestly half of what I thought it was going to be. She looks killer and rides better than when I got her. Shifts like a dream which was unheard of prior. Definitely impressed - if you need a tune up I highly recommend them.
