Kinetik. Haven't experienced better service or knowledge anywhere else yet. Worth the trip.

Dunbar cycles in Vancouver. North shore - Steed cycles, deep cove (not actually in deep cove and close to second narrows) or on top bike shop (Lonsdale)

North Shore Bike Shop ([https://www.northshorebikeshop.net/](https://www.northshorebikeshop.net/)) are the bomb. Amazing service, always willing to go the extra mile, very knowledgeable. If North Shore isn't practical for some reason Dunbar Cycles in Vancouver also do a great job.

Bike Zone in White Rock . Shopped there since I was a kid . Been to every shop in the lower mainland , and none of them have been close to how good the Bike Zone is . A bunch of shops have constantly overpriced me , or raised the cost in my face over basic maintenance . The Bike Zone doesn't do that . Honest and professional guys . To add , I've had free parts and clothing sent to me by companies , so I was riding pretty decent and knew what I was talking about . Most shops , you walk in and they assume you don't know what you're talking about .

Careful your bike will get stolen right quick in Vancouver. Don't become another crime statistic.
newbie question: can anyone recommend a bike shop on the North Shore for a tuneup? picked one at random a few years ago and had a bad experience ...

I have heard Fit Werx is great. It's in Peabody.

Centraal Cycles in Beverly is fabulous - care for your bike like it was their own. Fitwerx in Peabody is excellent. Riverside in Newburyport is also very good. Seaside in Manchester has improved tremendously. And Woodys in Topsfield is very reliable. All of them can do a good tune up, similarly priced. Go with the one most convenient for a simple tune up, see if you like them. If not, buy something from the next one on the list and check them out. When you find one you like, and it is mostly the people, then stick with them and develop a relationship.

Decarolis brothers in Lawrence. Brand new shop opened by two Italian brothers who just moved here and make their own bikes. I've had two tuned there - they have a magic touch for sure!
