My son was diagnosed with Coats earlier this month and we saw a specialist in Portland last week. We were informed that he's in the advanced stage, his retina is completely detached and is blind in his left eye but his eye pressure is great and he's in no pain so they recommend that we don't do anything and just keep monitoring it and not to do surgery for his sight because they don't want to go in there and make things worse possible and it start hurting. Should we just monitor? Anyone else have the Dr tell them this?
