Hello, I am looking for recommendations for a pediatric endocrinologist who is familiar with Armour Thyroid, and a pediatric ophthalmologist who is really good in...
Brenda H. replied:
Dr Bruce Boston is our endocrinologist. He's with Doernbecher's. Desi has hypothyroidism.
Brenda H. replied:
She takes Levothyroxine. I don't know about other medicines. I really should try to better understand this condition and treatments. I've had quite a time with her pediatrician ----getting her on board, working with Dr Boston, and doing tests.
Carmelle O. replied:
We go to & really like Dr. Leah Reznick with Casey Eye Institute (OHSU) for ophthalmologist. She comes to Vancouver in Fisher's Landing on Mondays & is@OHSU in PDX her other days.
Jennifer F. replied:
Dr Rarey (ophthalmologist) at the Vancouver Clinic salmon creek has been amazing with my infant. She used to or still is part of the group of doctors with the DS clinic.
Mariani L. replied:
Brenda Hoffman, I learned more about hypothyroidism from drbrownstein.com Overcoming Thyroid Disorders.
Makiko R. replied:
Hi Mariani. You can try Dr. Martin Milner at Center for Natural Medicine on East side. He is not a pediatric endocrinologist, but a naturopath who is very knowledgeable with thyroid, and will prescribe Armour. Make sure your insurance covers. I have been trying to find pediatric endocrinologists who can prescribe Armour, did all kinds of on line research without success. I would love to know if you manage to find one. Also we take our son to Dr. Leah Reznick with Casey Eye Institute (OHSU) for ophthalmologist. She was sweet and wonderful with my son. Highly recommend her. Please email me if you need more information.
Does anyone know a good Ophthalmologist in this area? Doyle has glaucoma and is due for an exam.
Beth M. replied:
Henry Ford OptimEyes at 15 and Farmington has them and we've been impressed with the care. There's also a Dr. Walsh out of Beaumont but it's been a few years.
