  My 7 year old daughter has pretty severe separation anxiety that hasn't gotten better and her pediatrician recommends finding ways to give her more sense of security. She hates being away from me but I have to work and run errands. What about getting her a small cell phone for kids that would let her know I'm only a call or text away? Would it be expensive or impractical? Is she too young for a cell phone? I would want one with limits on calls and contacts. Do any of you guys have experience with this? My carrier is sprint.

  There is also a wristwatch designed specifically for kids that can send and receive text messages without a separate phone device. Check out the FiLIP. Myfilip.com. My coworker bought one for his kid about her age.
