  Recommend me a good, affordable vet Hi all! Moved to Long Beach from OC last month with my recently-adopted cat. He is healthy but I want to take him to a vet for an overall checkup (and also find a good vet for him going forward.) Any recommendations? I live in Bixby Knolls, right by the border of Signal Hill so something in this area would be ideal.

  I have reached out in several directions, but I am not hearing back from any of my contacts, so I am (re)posting here. There is a little urgency to this as it is almost the weekend. I need a rec for a vet who is used to dealing with feral/semi-feral cats. I noticed a little bit of blood in the stool of these foster kitties and I want to take them somewhere other than where I have been going. I am fostering two cats who come from a troubled background (one of the two is semi-feral) and I need to take them to a vet, preferably here in Long Beach, to have them checked/treated for possible parasites. (I noticed a little bit of blood in their stool.) I am looking for recs for vets who are accustomed to dealing with cats like these. And if they accept 24 Pet Watch insurance (I got some limited coverage free when I agreed to foster them) that would be even better. Thanks!

  We have been going to Dr. Tran at The Family Vet for almost four years. Her office is small so they cannot take walk-ins. She is very compassionate towards pets and their humans. 1749 Magnolia. 562-281-7387. Pine Animal Hospital in downtown LB has great Yelp reviews too.

  For the future (since you already have an appointment) Dr T-Na Tran The Family Vet on Magnolia just south of PCH. 281-7387. She has taken care of our babies all their lives. She is brilliant and kind.

  I used to go to the Family Vet on Magnolia, but once I heard that Dr. A opened in Bixby, I quickly ran over there. Ya, he's pretty famous....he drives all the way from WESTWOOD to work here in Bixby. He loves this place. His practice has grown so much, he is considering opening another location. THey're amazing there...and are VERY personable. THey get to know the owners and pets personally...plus, Bixby (the cat) is HILARIOUS with his closet of clothes and his "man chair."...he loves Nana when she visits.

  I love The Family Vet on Magnolia. Dr. Tran is very very caring and she makes out a full report of what was done along with aftercare. This is very important to me so I have something to refer back to. She and her team are great and their prices are so reasonable I feel guilty!
