About us
This is a locally run business by Mr M Napper. He has been trading under this business since 1972 and has a very good reputation for his work over the years. He has owned a number of premises in the Launceston area and he and his wife owned Horse and Rider on Exeter Street and also when it was situated at this site.
We have a huge range of saddles in stock and they range from new to second hand. They can be from the very narrowest to the widest for those roly-poly ponies and can be found in a range of colours and sizes. The price like the specifications can range from £200- £1,000 with a lot of others in between. Feel free to pop in and someone can help you to find a saddle which suits not only the horse but also you. We fit top to bottoms, and bottoms to tops!
We can work from a template which you provide us or if you are unsure we can come to your premises; however we do charge a call out fee for this service as it is taking Maurice’s time away from the shop. Please feel free to contact us for more information about this service as all members of staff are happy to help.
Currently in stock we have a number of the Kent & Master adjustable gullet saddles, they have proven to be very popular with our customers and we have sold a number in the past 6 months. We also stock traditional good quality English leather saddles with many being our own hand made WCBM saddles. We pride ourselves on the fact that we still have members of the public which come back to us after many years and request another WCBM saddle.
There is a number of finest quality English leather bridles also available in many colours and sizes, with the opportunity to hand pick a whole bridle as we also have the spare parts. Our workshop assistant has worked with Maurice for many years and is a very capable member of the team, all our bridle work is hand made by her and it can be made to fit. We undertake special orders so if there is something you require pop in and we will see what we can do.
New for... show more this summer is a range of Numnah’s, Girth’s and whips all available in the standard sizes and in a range of colours. Our partnerships with the likes of Tagg, Aerborn, Stubben, Jefferies and Fairfax Saddles allow us to provide good quality stock all year round.
We are now a drop off and collection point for Equine Laundry on a Friday so if you require your rugs washed, re-proofed and smelling fresh drop them in and we will make sure they go for cleaning. One of the girls here carries out rug repairs all year round also at very good prices so if you also need a repair then why not have it done at the same time. For information please contact the shop.

Directions:
From Pennygillam roundabout head into the town centre, follow the road round down the hill past the castle. On the right hand side there is a turning to Polson, take this right then the next right, and continue up the hill. There will be a car park on the left with our sign on the right hand sign, please enter the compound as feel free to park.
From Holsworthy/Bude- head up St Thomas hill from Greenaway’s at the bottom, there is a left turn signposted Polson, take this then the next right. Follow the directions above.
