My boyfriend’s birthday is coming up and I wanted to get him some DJ’ing equipment to show I really supposed his passion. The one thing I know he for sure needs is lights. There are a couple other gifts I want to get him so if anyone has any affordable light/laser recommendations please let me know! Preferably under $100! Thanks!

  The Chauvet Kinta will set you back about $170 without a bag/case, but it's a 3 in 1 effect light, so it's worth the price. If it's a matter of not having more money on hand, some sites offer financing. A few that offer this are idjnow.com, americanmusical.com, zzounds.com, etc.. I prefer Sweetwater as their customer service is phenomenal. If you do go this route, and he's a mobile DJ, you cant go wrong with the Chauvet Gig Bar 2. That will set you back about $500 without a case/bag though. It's very worth it because it is a compact way to transport multi lighting effects in one rig. You should also always buy a case or bag to protect these investments.
