Does anyone know good places to look for black friday/cyber monday deals for DJ stuff? Figured it was getting about that time. What should we keep our eyes on? Thanks!

So at DJ Techtools we always have a huge Black Friday / Cyber Monday sale. Unlike other sites, we're a small company of real DJs selling gear, so we can actually advise you to make intelligent choices about your purchases. Our Black Friday sale officially starts next week, but you can also go into our store and ask our (real DJs) chat team anytime to hook you up with the prices in advance. Want to know when all of the sale goes live? Here's the best two ways: * RSVP to our Facebook event as a reminder for yourself: http://djtech.tools/fbBFsaleDJ * Sign up for our newsletter here and we'll email you as soon as it's live: http://bit.ly/DJTTnewsletter

I called 123 dj to ask them if they were having sales and they told me that with them “Black friday is ever day” so that’s that

If you go on Idjnow.com you can use the promo code BPM50 for $50 dollars off from the BPMsupreme contest. Not sure what shipping would be though.

Chaveut is gonna be your choice here. $100 isnt gonna get much, some cheesey effect but you'll find something. If you're looking to spend that price range on something, may I suggest a subscription to a record pool. Theres a few really good ones out there that do a 3 month sub for $90. I use to use DJcity when I was in the dj game. He will get more use out of unlimited downloads of dj mixes and a huge music library then a light that will break within the year.

When someone is passionate about something, getting them an item without consulting them is never a good idea. You're better off just giving him a gift certificate for $100 to a music shop. I see these posts a lot and the basic part is that you don't know what he wants or needs. A $100 light is tbh, a really poor piece of gear for the most part and if your BF is serious about it, he's not going to want that. But $100 going towards a $250 light will be much better for him.

Buying a person a lower priced version of something good is never as good as buying them a good version of something lower priced.
A premium quality USB thumb drive with some type of key ring or lanyard would be a lot more useful than a super low budget DJ light.
A large mirror could be another idea. There are a shitload of newer DJs who look like they are trying to head bunt some invisible enemy during their sets, even though they actually think they are dancing. Practicing in front of a mirror could allow him to see what the crowd sees and adjust accordingly.
As a mobile DJ I always pack a lunch bag with snack bars, bottled water, breath mints, hand sanitizer with aloe, etc. You could gift him a high quality lunch bag with essentials for a lot less than $100. You could also get yourself an identical bag including the same items to show that you tend to show up and be supportive at gigs. Signaling that you approve of his efforts and desire to support him might go over a lot better than dumping a terrible $100 light in his lap.

I prefer the Mixtrack with Numark DjIo. Roughly the same price as the Mixtrack Pro, but if the soundcard goes bad ever you only have to replace the soundcard and not the whole unit. Cheap fix for future. That is only my personal preference though. Sent on the Sprint® Now Network from my BlackBerry®

Dj2 go will be Plastic also more than likely. Also you will find with the Mixtrack and Mixtrack Pro that the jog wheels are much larger and easier to handle with scratching and mixing. I prefer to use the Mixtrack with Numark DjIo because if in the future the DjIo soundcard goes bad you will only have to replace it, if you purchase a Mixtrack Pro the sound card is built in and if that soundcard goes bad you will haev to replace the entire unit. I prefer to futureproof my setup just in case something goes wrong. Hope this helps.

Andrew S. replied:
The Mixtrack and Mixtrack Pro are both plastic, with touch sensitive jog platters. So far from what I have seen they are very durable and everyone else that has used them likes them for both scratching and mixing. They are very lightweight and easy to use. Overall for the price I feel that they are a great product for both gigging and home use.
